It’s great stuff. I haven’t had any in years and I really should make it myself as I have loads of chillies in the freezer and there’s grapefruit all around at the moment. The only other place I’ve seen grapefruit chilli marmalade is Q Gardens near Waitara, Taranaki.

Tauranga farmer’s market is getting better all the time. The gluten-free sausages are great and I had the best masala dosa outside India there one fine day. I’ve only had two dosas outside India but it was pretty authentic. Now if they could just get some Oak leaf wine and a pig on a spit happening.

The farmer’s market is starting at the Mount soon on Sundays and running to the slightly more civilized hour of 1pm.

Nowhere has deep fried pizzas like Scotland. Does anywhere else have deep fried pizzas at all?

We’ve moved to a tenement flat in Polwarth near the canal and a great deli, whose name I can’t remember. We nearly took a place in Stockbridge which would’ve been cool, but the Polwarth flat is much nicer.

We’re waiting for the Telewest guy to come on Friday and sort out our phone, internet and 100 channels of pap. No internet at home is rather stink. I can’t detect any wifi action around either.

I was after a Bombay Duck actually but they weren’t available.

We just spent the whole day on a roach-infested train from Patnem Beach in South Goa to Mumbai. Patnem is real nice, if a little busy with dogs. I think the Goa Animal Welfare Trust is doing some cheap sterilisation thing at the moment – 250 rupees instead of 600. It’s a worthy cause!

Tonight in Mumbai I saw three immaculately groomed spaniels being walked. The local mongrels didn’t give them any grief or even sniff around them. Dogs live in a caste society too.

I got my car back this morning from Polwarth Garage so I have a wheels to get down to London and to the airport and get all our gear out of our flat. Now I just need to pack.

Looks like Edinburgh is gonna be unwired by the time I get back. I’m gonna miss Burn’s night, Nick Cave, The Go!Team, The Crimea, Richard Ashcroft, Trainspotting at The Kings Theatre and Goldfrapp but I’ll be back in Edinburgh for The Flaming Lips at Usher Hall!!! Think I might go to All Tomorrow’s Parties at Camber Sands near Rye too. I haven’t been down East Sussex since I’ve been back in the UK. Will have to check out Hastings and St-Leonards-on-sea where I used to live.
